Can cats eat raw squid?

Avoid

Raw squid and clams destroy vitamin B1 — the source of an old Korean saying about wobbly cats.

Never raw; cooked only in tiny pieces, rarely.

Why

Raw squid, octopus and clams contain an enzyme that breaks down thiamine (B1); regular feeding causes wobbliness and head drooping. Cooking removes the enzyme, but it's tough to digest and can lodge if swallowed whole. Dried squid is very salty.
