Can cats eat nori (unseasoned)?

A little

A fingernail-size piece of plain nori — seasoned seaweed is oily and salty.

How much

Up to per day 1g about 0.4 pieces · 1 full sheet ≈ 2.5 g

4 kg adult cat, treats ≤10% of ~200 kcal/day

PreparationPlain nori, torn tiny.

Why

Nori is very high in iodine, so generous daily amounts could affect the thyroid. Seasoned seaweed adds sesame oil and salt. A tiny bit is fine for cats that love the smell.
