Can cats eat grapes?

Dangerous

A few can injure the kidneys, and there is no known safe amount.

If your cat ate it

Signs
Vomiting or diarrhea, lethargy, not eating, then reduced urine
When
Vomiting within hours; kidney injury over 24–72 hours
What to do now
Go to a vet before symptoms appear (induced vomiting, fluids) and recheck kidney values 2–3 days later.

Don't.

Why

In dogs, tartaric acid in grapes causes acute kidney failure. Reports in cats are fewer, but the same kidney injury has been seen, and individual sensitivity varies so there's no 'safe number'. Older cats with weaker kidneys are at greater risk.

If your cat has a condition

Dangerous for every cat, with or without a health condition.
