Can cats eat fried chicken?

Avoid

Batter and sauce carry salt, garlic and onion — plus dangerous bones.

Don't.

Why

Fried chicken's oil, batter and sauce are all wrong for cats, and leftover bones splinter (see cooked bones). A bit of inner meat isn't a disaster, but it's not something to give on purpose.

If your cat has a condition

  • Kidney disease Avoid No specific data — follow the overall verdict.
  • Diabetes Avoid Some carbohydrate — keep it occasional. Carbs 27% of calories
  • Heart disease (HCM) Avoid Moderately salty — small amounts. Sodium 1,720 mg/1000kcal
  • Urinary stones Avoid No specific stone concern known — water intake matters more.
