Can cats eat alcohol?

Dangerous

A few laps can cause coma and low blood sugar — hand sanitizer counts too.

If your cat ate it

Signs
Wobbliness, vomiting, depression, low temperature, slow breathing, collapse
When
30–60 minutes
What to do now
Go to a vet now; don't induce vomiting at home.

Don't.

Why

A sip for a person is a large dose for a cat. Alcohol depresses the brain, lowers blood sugar and body temperature, and slows breathing. It's also in hand sanitizer, vanilla extract and rising dough.

If your cat has a condition

Dangerous for every cat, with or without a health condition.
